Conservative Republicans of Texas Launch On-Line Contribution Fundraising Matching for Challengers

HOUSTON – This morning, Conservative Republicans of Texas (CRT) announces the launch of an on-line contribution fundraising matching program in 18 districts across Texas for Republican House challengers. This program is the largest and most expansive of its kind in Republican Legislative races in Texas.

“I am serious about increasing the Republican majority in the Texas House. Today’s program is just one of the ways we intend to make an impact in these races,” said Dr. Steven Hotze, President of Conservative Republicans of Texas.

“This morning, CRT sent individualized emails into 18 House Districts, nearly 60,000 in all. We are encouraging voters to visit their candidate’s website and make an on-line contribution with the additional incentive that their on-line contribution will be matched.

We are sending a strong signal to the Conservative grassroots movement in Texas. We believe in these candidates. These races are winnable, and CRT will work towards Republican victory in Texas by doubling the contributions of voters.” Hotze concluded.

CRT Political Director Allen Blakemore explained, “We have identified a number of races in Texas where the Republican challengers are in a position to win. Today’s program launch is just one way we hope to draw attention to these races, drive website traffic, and help build the kind of grassroots army that will carry these candidates to victory in November. To date, we have not seen any program of this magnitude undertaken in Texas.”

The targeted races include: HD1 George Lavender, HD3 Erwin Cain, HD33 Raul Torres, HD34 Connie Scott, HD35 Jose Aliseda, HD47 Paul Workman, HD48 Dan Neil, HD52 Larry Gonzales, HD74 Thomas Kincaid, HD78 Dee Margo, HD85 Jim Landtroop, HD96 Bill Zedler, HD101 Cindy Burkett, HD102 Stefani Carter, HD106 Rodney Anderson, HD107 Kenneth Sheets, HD133 Jim Murphy, and HD149 Jack O’Connor.
